This resource has been created for the Day of the Dead celebrations, which take part on 1st November each year. This lesson gives students a simplified and broken-down way of accessing a non-fiction text based on a popular theme. The first part poses comprehension and language activities. The activities ensure the text is carefully read.

The second part of the lesson looks at vocabulary building and writing skills. This resource is suitable for cross curricular lessons in PSHE.
This lesson is suitable for KS3 students, but it can easily be adapted to suit KS4 students, particularly those who are less able.
