This short unit of work can be used for GCSE or for the simple joy of creating a text or short story.

The unit of six lessons includes what and how to use literary devices, how to make descriptive writing effective, how to create an engaging protagonist, how to effectively structure a narrative, plot and sub-plot, creating character traits, how to use dialogue, describing environments.

This can be used as a pleasant diversion from the constriction of spec based exam questions which are fettered by a timed, assessment lead brief.
