Based on Talk the text, this planning is presented using Smart Boards- it is easy to follow and includes a story map. This is for lower key stage two and so is suitable for years 3 and 4 but could be adapted for year 5/6. It includes a link to a story linked to the literacy shed as a stimulus for writing ideas.
For each day taught there is a age appropriate “starter” slide which is grammar based. All the slides are easy to follow and can be adapted to suit your learners. The outcome of the learning is to innovate the story and then write their own.
The learning is closely linked to national curriculum targets for vocabulary and sentence work. It is fun and engaging and provides lots of opportunity for children to experiment with language and story telling.
I have also included “toolkits” which support the writing at different stages of the process- introduction, build up, climax ending etc
The smart boards include drama ideas, hot seating etc
