This is an ESL English lesson, tailored to the new Pearson Edexcel (2023) ESL GCSE examination series. The lesson focuses on the second unit: Education.
Students are introduced to the basics of a personal statement and discuss what information they should include. They then read through 3 different examples of varying success and annotate why they are/ aren’t effective. Finally, students write their own personal statements using the information acquired in the lesson. Most tasks are differentiated to accommodate those with a basic level of English, to the more proficient speakers.
Students get the chance to practice reading and writing skills in this lesson.
