The second week of a SoW which has students studying short stories and ultimately writing their own. These lessons use two short stories by science fiction writer Ray Bradbury, and have students exploring imagery and analysing how it is created using figurative langauge - similes and personification in particular. These lessons also give students an opportunity to craft their own futuristic dystopian tale. See previous and subsequent weeks for more lessons on short stories. Used for Year 9, but could be adapted for other years.
