The learning goals and success criteria are as follows:

Learning Goal
Students will be able to analyze the symbolic meaning and purpose of different film editing techniques in order to deepen their understanding of how filmmakers use editing to convey meaning and enhance the storytelling.

Success Criteria

1. Students will be able to explain at least three different film editing techniques such as jump cut, cross-cutting, and match cut and their symbolic purpose.
2. Students will be able to apply their understanding of film editing to analyze a given film scene and identify how the technique used contributes to the overall meaning or narrative of the scene
