Christmas themed Science lesson based around paper helicopters, but instead using paper reindeer. Pupils investigate how the number of presents attached to the reindeer’s feet affect the time taken to fall to the ground. Templates are included in the PowerPoint presentation for the reindeer and presents. Pupils make a prediction, consider variables, design a results table, conduct the experiment, before plotting a graph and drawing conclusions. Lots of opportunities for teacher questioning/cold calling, and self/peer assessment.
Will require paper clips, stopwatches and graph paper. Designed with KS3 in mind but could easily be adapted for use in Primary Science.
