This is a fractions treasure hunt I created for my Year 6 students who had been working on how to add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions. The problem I found, was that they were forgetting each method after the stand alone lesson and could not apply it when all four were mixed together. I stuck the questions around the school and children hunted [some in pairs, some on their own] to find the questions and solve the answers. They wrote down their working and answers on the answer sheet provided and then we marked them together, against the answers on the marking sheet. Children were so enthused during this lesson and they really applied the knowledge that they had gained. Brilliant for Year 6 SATs preparations!
