In this activity the students calculate answers to questions on fractions. The answers correspond to a letter (using the 'pupil fraction code sheet&'). The letters are an anagram which spell a word. Beware that some of the question sheets have answers in the footnote, so it is best to display these questions on an IWB. Also the colour on the &';pupil fraction code sheet' has no relevance but cheers everyone up.
Sadly this activity isn&'t the magic answer to getting students to handle denominators correctly, but it does help break up the monotony of practising this.
