Resource?: A powerpoint file with a dictée on basics (name/ age/ birthday/ description/where you live). I asked a French native to record the dictations.
What?: It is meant to enhance listening skills, and a break from standard listening comprehensions. The second slide has the answers as well as the Listening file, so pupils can correct their work and reflect on the pronunciation.
Support?: There is support on the board, not all the vocabulary is directed related, but to nudge learnings in the right direction. There is also an alphabet to support with phonics.
Why?: I think dictées can be a very powerful tool to improve confidence with listening comprehension and reflect on their writing and spelling.
