A number of different resources to teach, reinforce and revise the Imperfect past tense.
1) Battleships speaking game in pairs- uses 4 different persons and Free Time activities. Fits in with Expo 3 Rouge topic of 'Il etait une fois'.
Game is differentiated. One in English + pictures for more able and one with French persons, pictures with infinitive verb in French and verb endings at bottom to add on, for less able.
2) Imperfect gap-fill sheets - 3 sentences in large font, each with gaps. 8 large imperfect verbs with different persons, to fit into gaps. Can be done in teams, timed activity, cut up to be put back together, then a running dictation. Various possibilities!
3) Imperfect oral game - 30 sentences in French and English, imperfect tense. Use as a class speaking activity. One reads English. Person with correct French reads out the translation, then reads their English and so on, ending with the person who started.
Good for comprehension, listening, speaking and reading skills.
Some are similar, so requires good attention.
Sentences are quite difficult in places, so for more able, but can be adapted easily, if necessary.

4) Find the Imperfect Verbs - powerpoint, 1 slide. Range of imperfect verbs with different persons, also some other verbs, NOT in imperfect. Students come to board, to circle the 8 correct imperfect ones and explain how worked them out, translate etc.
This could also be printed off as a worksheet, starter etc.
