Powerpoint and student worksheet. Powerpoint has about a lesson and half of content, if each lesson is around 50 minutes.
My students were year 8 mixed-low ability and were so engaged during this lesson - they loved it, so I thought I’d share!
The lesson:
- Starter - picture analysis
- Several slides - short and long term causes of French Revolution.
***** Students fill in sheets throughout lesson making notes on the short and long term causes, and the contemporary set up of society. Lots of images/key facts **** - Video linked to
- Dear Diary activity - students imagine they are a peasant before the revolution. This was a great way to get students to engage with the facts, and get underneath the skin of them to understand what happened. I was so impressed with their creativity and understanding.
