French: Let's talk about hobbies and passions

Hobbies and passions are what I propose to discuss with your A2 or B1 group. This educational sheet will allow your students to achieve several objectives that I am now presenting to you.

Objectives concerning comprehension :
In listening comprehension, they will be able to understand three audio documents about cinema, a rather zany passion and “useful hobbies”. These three listening comprehensions will be scored out of 25 points and will be followed by oral productions directly related to the exercises.

Amongst these oral comprehensions you will find two written comprehensions. The first is an article about a collector and his daily life. The second is about a woman who is looking for a useful hobby. The students will have to relate her requirements to the different hobbies proposed (exercise 1 of DELF B1).

What should your students produce?
Thanks to this sheet, they will talk a lot! Either among themselves, in a forum or individually with you, after each exercise they will have all the resources to express themselves clearly about their hobbies and passions.

But also:

• A presentation will be made as a group to help people make a living from their passion
• A discussion to talk about your hobbies following a simple structure
• A speed dating event to talk about your cinematic tastes
• An interaction exercise to propose an exit
• Giving clear answers to fairly open questions

Finally, to put it all into practice, your learners should write an email to a friend who confuses hobbies with passion.

Vocabulary of hobbies :
It’s simple, at the beginning of this great FLE resource you’ll have thirty names of hobbies to link to pictures. Once this is finished, they will play a game to test their memory and an oral production that allows them to talk about hobbies. At the end, there will be a vocabulary list to say and exercises to practice the vocabulary they have learned.
