- How to use this lesson
Dictée #1 : This dictée is less than 3 minutes. Give each student a response sheet.
Students listen to the dictée and write the number they hear both as words and digits.
Dictée #2 : This dictée lasts about 10 minutes and requires a lot of concentration. It is
called CALCUL RAPIDE. Students hear 50 simple math equations involving addition,
subtraction, multiplication and division. Technically students as young as 9 or 10
should be able to do the math. I got this idea from my daughter’s 3rd grade class in
France (CE2). Of course, being in French makes “simple math” a lot more difficult and
will challenge even high school age non-native speakers.
