In this lesson, students will understand that our bodies need energy to function and we get this energy from the nutrients that are found
in the five food groups, particularly in dairy foods. Carbohydrate, protein and fat will be introduced to the students and
they will use their understanding of these to choose items from each food group to create a balanced, healthy diet with
emphasis on dairy foods. Students will apply their knowledge to plan a healthy breakfast which includes dairy foods.
