Functional Skills Maths - Entry Level 1 - Time

This resource has been designed for students working towards Functional Skills Maths qualifications working at Entry Level 1. This resource contains an age-appropriate, 135-slide PowerPoint lesson and a 31-page workbook on time.

The PowerPoint and workbook will help pupils to to achieve these outcomes:

Know, name and order the days of the week
Know, name and order the months of the year
Know, name and order the seasons
Understand and use the terms yesterday, today and tomorrow
Tell the time to the hour on an analogue clock
Tell the time to the hour on a 12 hour digital clock
Convert analogue to digital time and vice versa to the hour

PowerPoint Lesson

Many opportunities are provided within the PowerPoint for pupils to practice knowing and sequencing the days of the week, the months of the and the seasons. Pupils are also asked to tell the time using both analogue and digital clocks. There are also a number of slides where pupils are required to apply their knowledge of time to solve word problems.

Workbook

The 31-page workbook includes 7 information/explanation pages, 21 worksheets (with answers) , 2 progress checks and a certificate of achievement on time. The resource is available in PDF format and an editable PowerPoint version to enable personalisation of the resource.
