Once students know how to use the French passé composé with ÊTRE and AVOIR they will have a great time practicing with this hands on game: QUEL DOMMAGE!! This is a passé composé review game in which the sentences are written in the present tense. Students have to restate them in the passé composé using the correct helping verb and past participle. Regular, irregular and some reflexive verbs are included. Detailed instructions are included so that even when you need a sub, your students can practice the passé composé with être and avoir.

This game is also part of a BUNDLE including resources for ÊTRE and AVOIR in the passé composé: https://www.tes.com/us/teacher-lessons/french-pass-compos-bundle-tre-ou-avoir-11599995

All you have to do is print the game cards on heavy paper or card stock and cut them out. If you laminate them you'll have a no prep activity ready to go for years to come! Put all of the game pieces in a box and divide your students into small teams. Give each team gets a box of questions and a copy of the answer key.

Students must replace the underlined present tense verb in the sentences with the passé composé and say the sentence correctly. When they are correct, they get to keep their game card. However, when they draw a QUEL DOMMAGE card they have to put all of their game cards back in the box. The student with the most game cards at the end is the winner.

Included:

5 QUEL DOMMAGE cards - You don’t have to include them all in the game if you feel there are too many.

30 numbered game cards - Black and white and color versions provided.

Thank you for creating such a great game! My students love playing this, and since you include the answer sheet, I have them pass it around and take turns being the "judge". Next time we play it, I am going to give each group one dry-erase board and have the student answering the question write down the verb and the "judge" checks to be sure they have the accents, words spelled correctly.
