This GCSE Photography project on the theme of Structures is perfect for developing students’ photography skills and is easy to navigate by a non-specialist Photography teacher. Written with references to DSLR cameras, this is easily adaptable for mobile phone use. References are made to both historical and contemporary photographers/designers, such as David Hockney, Idris Khan, Abigail Reynolds and Sven Pfrommer. As well as teaching some of the fundamentals of photography in easy to understand language, step-by-step stages of editing styles using Photoshop and ways of manipulating images physically are included so that students explore both photography skills and ways of developing their work. This detailed project includes starters, knowledge recall and photography analysis slides to support practical work in a full and coherent GCSE project.
This unit of work can be taught as a stand alone project or in unison with others listed on my uploaded resources to form a full scheme of learning across Y10 and Y11. What to know more… there’s a free GCSE Photography scheme of learning on my uploaded resources.
