It covers how the focal length and shape of a lens affect its power, using ray diagrams to show how converging & diverging lenses refract light and explaining how diverging lenses produce virtual images, comparing the way in which converging & diverging lenses refract light and explaining the different types of image that can be formed by converging lenses.
The resource is appropriate for Triple Science classes, Foundation and Higher tiers. (Note: the order and coding for combined and triple science are different for Topic 5, this is lesson 3 for Triple classes and is not needed in the combined science specification).
