This is a complete unit of work that meets the specification of AQA’s GCSE RS - Theme E - Religion, Peace & Conflict.

This resource includes 9 lessons (designed as 50 minute lessons but would easily fill 1 hour lessons). It was designed for Year 11 in my school, but would be suitable for any KS4 class completing the GCSE. There’s a range of different resources and activities to keep students engaged and encourage independent learning.

MINIMAL PRINTING

It includes:

  • A tracker for the whole of the Y11 schemes of learning taught (Theme E - Religion, Crime & Punishment, Islam - Practices, Theme D - Religion, Peace & Conflict, Christianity - Practices), featuring this as the third unit.
  • 8 content lessons that meet the needs of the specification including beliefs about war, violence, protest, terrorism, reasons for war, nuclear weapons, just war, holy war, pacifism, peacemaking and victims of war.
  • Key skill test opportunities to provide students with feedback on the skills ‘explain’ ‘reference sacred writings’ and ‘evaluate’ before the assessment (4-mark Qs, 5-mark Qs and 12-mark Qs)
  • All question marking sticker templates (ready to print on consortium stickers - pack of 8 - 99mmx68mm)
  • Revision lesson
  • Factual Recall Test

All learning objectives are based around ‘know, apply, extend’ and differentiation is present in the form of sentence starters, excellence challenges and model answers.
This is complete and ready to teach! Non-specialists have used it and followed it with ease.

Hopefully this will save you time and energy :)
