General Elections -Comparing Old Party Policies from the last general election and Manifestos. This lesson looks at six key election party policy areas (Brexit, The Economy, Crime and Policing, NHS & Social Care, Immigration and Education)

This lesson will have students exploring their own political views and guessing which policy matches with which party.

The political parties that are compared throughout this resource (Using the manifestos that are published and where there is no manifesto published the leaders comments) are as follows:
Labour, Conservatives, Liberal Democrats
Green Party, SNP, Brexit Party

  • We have left the information for Plaid Cymru in the notes to welsh schools could swap out SNP for it if they wanted to.

To describe how a manifesto is produced and compare six political party manifestos and promises
To evaluate who you might vote for in this upcoming General Election
To understand different party ideologies
