The set features a range of high-frequency German Christmas vocabulary, useful either as an introduction to, or consolidation of, the target language. Students can also develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their general German language skills in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. The questions are differentiated, and are aimed at advanced beginner German students. They address not only German numbers 0-31, German mathematical language and German Christmas vocabulary, but also a broad range of grammar points, such as adjectival endings, definite and indefinite articles and German cases.

All the questions are in German, with the Christmas images providing students with visual learning support. The Christmas vocabulary and images help to develop students’ awareness of a range of Christmas traditions and figures in German-speaking countries, such as Sankt Nikolaus and Knecht Ruprecht, and are also really useful for stimulating discussion about German Christmas practices and customs. This is a great alternative to more standard presentations and worksheets. Students also enjoy talking about other Christmas traditions they know or follow.

The resource comprises the following non-editable files:
= 48 differentiated question cards - laminate if possible, as they will remain in excellent condition for years
= answer key - this can also be laminated, and shared among groups of students for class work
= answer recording sheet - simply print as many as your particular groups need. Students use their class workbooks for working out and noting responses, though recording sheets are definitely useful for more formal assessment purposes.

The Lively Learning Classroom offers a wide range of German resources, including special offer bundles and freebies.

GERMAN NUMBERS CHALLENGE CARDS MINI-BUNDLE

**KS2 GERMAN NUMBERS PRIMARY GERMAN NUMBERS KS3 GERMAN NUMBERS BEGINNER GERMAN NUMBERS FOUR SETS OF CHALLENGE CARDS WITH ANSWER KEYS, RECORDING SHEETS AND NUMBERS TABLES** ***Files are non-editable in a zipped format. This product is copyright, all rights reserved. It is illegal to copy, rewrite, amend, share or distribute it, in whole or in part, outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-use license only. School / departmental licenses are available. Please read the Terms of Use carefully.*** Task / challenge cards are an ideal language learning activity, and really help to create a lively language learning environment. Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their ***German*** language skills in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. The sets are ideal for whole lessons, and individual questions work really well as bell ringers / starters. The focus is ***German*** numbers 0-21, 0-31, Christmas-theme 0-31 and 0-101. The questions are entirely in ***German***, with reference to ***German*** mathematical vocabulary, and range in complexity and challenge. To maximise the learning potential of the questions, look at the multiple-choice questions as a whole-group activity, identifying not only why there is a single correct response, but what the errors are in the other choices. Identifying errors, and explaining precisely why something is inaccurate or incorrect, helps students to think about language a little more laterally, and ensures that they are thinking concepts through, rather than simply relying on learned responses. The questions are ideal as bell ringers / starters, finishers, quick practice and refresh and for sub / cover lessons. ***Read the full outlines here:*** **GERMAN NUMBERS 0-21 CHALLENGE CARDS** [https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/german-numbers-0-21-challenge-cards-13326580](https://) **GERMAN NUMBERS 0-31 CHALLENGE CARDS** [https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/german-numbers-0-31-challenge-cards-11817183](https://) **GERMAN CHRISTMAS NUMBERS 0-31 CHALLENGE CARDS** [https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/german-christmas-numbers-0-31-challenge-cards-12015633](https://) **GERMAN NUMBERS 0-101 CHALLENGE CARDS** [https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/german-numbers-0-101-challenge-cards-11741806](https://) ***The Lively Learning Classroom offers a wide range of German resources, including special offer bundles and freebies.*** **VIELEN DANK UND VIEL SPAß IM DEUTSCHUNTERRICHT!**
