**This is a fantastic assembly designed to deal with the issue of Gossip or rumours in a school context. **
It was observed by Ofsted and they said it was Outstanding
This assembly looks at:
-The definition of gossip
-Where the term comes from
-Why people gossip
-What surveys show about gossip in the UK today
-What the impact of gossip is
-How it can be avoided
-6 tips to reduced gossip
The assembly can be a straight forward teacher presentation or you can include some audience participation (Q&As, a demonstration of gossip, a quick survey)
There are notes under every slide to help the presenter. The assembly should take 15 to 20 minutes. If you are short on time you could skip the video and the quotes.
I have also included a follow up activity for form tutors following the assembly to consolidate the key message.
