GAMIFIED! - bringing fun into the senior classroom - learning through play

Gamified! is my NEW resource series on TPT. Through incorporating play into the high school English classroom students are motivated, stimulated and supported to develop the skills, concepts and language they need to succeed.

A printable, pdf booklet to guide students through an introduction to Gothic Literature. The focus of this unit is for students to craft their own creative pieces in the Gothic style.

This booklet can be used as an introduction to a unit on Gothic literature or creative writing. Historically, I use it during a 2hr lesson and take my class out on a high tea on the grass.

Contents of this booklet:

extracts from well known Gothic novels and short stories: The Castle of Otranto, The Toymaker and his Wife, Northanger Abbey, The Wish
creative writing tasks: sensory imagery, characterisation, gaze, personification of abstract nouns
an invitation template for a Gothic High Tea
This is the student booklet which can be used as the introduction to the Year 12 IA3 Literature unit as it is aligned with the QCE syllabus.
