This is a 3-lesson bundle that covers the basics of the Fourdrinier process as well as the different paper and board types available.

I teach this to my AS level Graphics students but this could be used for KS4 also.

There are a few 'lesson tasks' to choose from which revolve around students creating their own revision resource, either on the process itself of on the products that result from the process.

I have also added my step-by-step process on how we make our own paper in school. This teaches students about the process and gives them a practical task to do. I ask them to bring in some old paper which could be newspaper, tissue paper or even small flowers and leaves. We then follow the process listed on the sheet and then leave the wet pulp sitting in the frames. I made these very quickly by making an A5 frame and stretching some netting over and attaching with a staple gun.

If you would like more information about how I run the paper-making process please contact me and I will be happy to help.I find that this is a fun introductory task to AS level and helps students remember the process much better.
