Guinea Worm Infection in Africa

The scourge for many people living in Lower Income Countries (LIC) is access to a source of clean water. This presentation was created to highlight a problem once found in many places in Africa due to people relying on polluted water sources but now happily nearly eradicated due to the work of Dr. Donald Hopkins and the Carter Foundation. It is particularly unpleasant disease known locally as the ‘Fiery Serpent’ due to the burning sensation created by the infection.
