Ideal for GCSE students studying the Health and the People AQA specification. This engaging lesson allows students to develop their knowledge and understanding of public health during the Middle Ages. The lesson includes an enquiry question which is ‘was public health really poor in the Middle Ages?’ To form a judgement on this, students will cover the following:
- public health in towns
- conditions in monasteries
- why were conditions better in the monasteries?
There are a range of strategies to check the progress of students included in the lessons including hinge questions and allowing students to vote on their feet.
** This lesson does require a scene from Horrible Histories and uses ClassPops to check students progress**
