I use this lesson for KS3 as a way to describe the three methods of heat transfer using popcorn. You will need a microwave, popcorn air popper and a hob to do each demonstration. Explains what happens when the popcorn pops introducing key words that will be used in GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition. Can be used a a practice NEA 1 - students can do each test to find out best tasting popcorn and write up with in experiment style. Lesson comes with a worksheet with various activities for students to complete.
