Hedy Lamarr, a famous actress born in Austria in 1914, became a popular actress in Austria before moving to Hollywood in 1933. She changed her name to Hedy Lamarr and starred in many movies, including her first big movie called “Algiers.” However, Hedy was not only talented in acting, but also very smart and loved learning. During World War II, she invented frequency hopping, a way to send secret messages without being understood, to help the war effort. Although her invention wasn’t used during the war, it later became the basis for modern technology like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Hedy Lamarr’s legacy as a talented actress and brilliant inventor lives on, showing that girls can be both beautiful and smart.
