This is a resource designed for use in conjunction with learning on Henry VIII & the Tudors.
It focuses on the story of Holbein painting a portrait of Henry VIII potential fourth wife, painting her prettier than she was and the aftermath of the filtered portrait.
Very contemporary when thinking about todays filtering and photoshopping and pupils love the story and its contemporary themes which bring Henry VIII more to life.
There is a link to a BBC clip in which actors play out the story in a fun way and these sheets also complement this clip but are not necessary for their use.
Includes outline of story, a literacy task, and a story board activity as well as character matching and a differentiated way of putting the story in order.
These sheets are useful alongside some other resources in my resources including a blanked out portrait in which pupils can paint over Henry VII & Anne of Cleaves portrait and a Henry VIII art Detective clues sheet looking in depth at his portrait and what the portrait said about Henry VIII.
I have separated these sheets as these could be used as a stand alone history or literacy task. This story also works brilliantly as a drama sequence.
There are also display banners in publisher available for a ready made wall display alongside captions and a large scale Henry Portrait already transferred to Publisher for easy construction on my other resources.
