History Curriculum Overview- 2 Year Cycle

Please find attached my curriculum overview for History for primary schools.
This curriculum was designed for mixed aged classes of a 20:10 split. It has been designed with full coverage of the national curriculum. The nature of the school was of high deprivation and a high proportion of EAL speakers. The view was to widen the children’s horizons and develop their understanding and aspirations whilst also making learning relatable where possible.

While it was designed to suit the needs of my school at the time it was developed to run alongside Lancashire’s Literacy Scheme where possible. You can see from our Geography curriculum overviews that there is also over riding themes between History and Geography to help children develop their knowledge and understanding further .
