History - KS1 - Victorian Toys and Games (6 lessons)
Suitable for KS1
This high-quality planning (2566 words), 44-slide PowerPoint and resources include 6 lessons around the theme, Victorian Toys and Games. A popular topic in KS1. The 6 lessons cover;
- Was it fun to live in the Victorian era?
- Are toys and games still made the same way?
- What can we learn from a picture?
- How did people use puppets to tell a story?
- What games did children used to play outside?
- Which is better: Victorian toys and games or modern day toys and games?
This resource includes everything you need to teach the above lessons. It includes an MTP, the planning, a 44-slide PowerPoint and all the resources. The planning is engaging and everything is visually appealing. The planning refers to ‘disciplinary knowledge’ and ‘substantive knowledge’. More information regarding these ideas can be found in Ofsted’s Research Review Series: History.
The final lesson involves the children planning a museum to present what they have learnt. All of the resources you need to plan and organise this are included. It is not as scary or as hard work as it sounds! I have done it myself.
