History of the Atom GCSE Physics Atomic Structure

This lesson contains a powerpoint, worksheet and past exam question to guide students through the history of the atom and how the model has changed over time. It provides opportunity for students to improve their technique to extended response questions. It is important that you read the notes for each slide as many of the slides deliberately contain just pictures so students do not experience cognitive overload and are required to listen to the information you give them before completing each section of the worksheet. There are built in opportunities for peer and self assessment too.
