This lesson, split into multiple activities is set within the popular KS3 Geography topic of Coasts, with a particular focus on the process of Longshore Drift.

Within the lesson pupils are expected to gain an understanding of swash and backwash as well as Longshore Drift before learning in more detail some of the landforms which Longshore Drift is responsible for (Spits, Barrier Beaches and Tombolos) and an example of each one.
