General Vo Nguyen Giap was a talented military leader. He organised the Viet Minh and North Vietnamese Armies into effective fighting forces, he ensured that the Ho Chi Minh Trail was maintained and reinforced, he understood the effectiveness of guerrilla warfare, he planned the Tet Offensive and used French and U.S. weaknesses against them.
