This is the second lesson in a unit about the Holocaust, aimed at year 9 mixed-ability. There is a focus on literacy, with guided readings. It follows an I do, we do, you do model.

The focus for this lesson is looking at the early persecution of Jewish people, debunking the misconception that persecution of Jewish people is something unique to the Nazi party. It also gives context to the build up towards physical attacks and genocide by looking at propaganda, boycotting of Jewish shops and the Nuremberg laws. There is also a timeline of persecution to show the progression through the Nazi regime.
