A step by step, scaffolded approach to teaching your students how to write a five-paragraph biographical essay.

There is a writing model from which students complete a graphic organiser to guide them in deconstructing the model essay. This process helps students to intuit the structure of a biography.

There are graphic organizers for research, introduction and conclusion.

There is an editing symbol guide and a "works cited" guide.

It draws special attention to a six-step writing process; research, draft, share, edit, revise and publish. There are check boxes for monitoring students' progress through the writing process.

The workbook is printed on loose leaf notebook style paper. This is useful if you live overseas and have trouble locating the loose leaf style notebook paper found in North America.

Revised and updated on Mar 2015.

NOTE:This workbook contains two copies of some pages to account for the two spellings of organiser/organizer.
