A one-lesson simulation game that requires students to work in groups and adopt a particular form of government (democracy, monarchy, dictatorship etc.) and discuss solutions to three given problems. Students assume the role of the government leaders of an unnamed and fictitious city-state. Discussion questions are included at the end. Originally used with a Year 1 (Grade 11) IB Global Politics class, it could be adapted for younger grades or an AP/A-Level class. Must be used in conjuction with the “How much does everything cost?” and the “Forms of Government” PDF handouts which are also available here on TES.
