This download includes all slides and resources for a 20 lesson writing sequence, inspired by the text Ice Palace by Robert Swindells. It produced very successful writing outcomes for a Year 3 cohort but could be tailored for other year groups.
The writing sequence is built up of text exploration where children use a variety of writing techniques to re-write a section of the narrative. Step-by-step the children work through a series of lessons where they develop sections of their narrative (using expanded noun phrases, similes, demercated speech and conjunctions) that they then piece together in a final piece.
The download includes:
Ready-to-go lesson slides (Both SMART Notebook & Microsoft PPT format) that are user friendly and take the teacher through the writing sequence step-by-step.
Clearly organised and user-friendly resources for 20 lessons including a starter for every lesson, activities, differentiated versions and word mats.
A book cover page to go into writing books.
