Unlock the full potential of your classroom with our carefully crafted resource designed to help students master Module 1 QUI SUIS-JE? of the EDEXCEL IGCSE French textbook Studio. This pack includes 25 engaging EPI activities, each tailored to reinforce language skills while accommodating different learning styles through differentiation.

These exercises and games are suitable for Year 9, Year 10, and Year 11 students who have completed Module 1. It is not necessary to be an EPI teacher to use these resources.

What’s inside:

2 One Pen, One Dice games: A dynamic classroom game featuring 10 sentences that allows students to practice translation from French to English (and vice versa) in pairs, requiring only a dice for an interactive learning experience.

6 Paired Gapped Dictations: With 60-70 words per text, students work in pairs using different versions of the same text to identify and fill in missing words, enhancing their listening and comprehension skills. This activity is self-marked, promoting independent learning.

6 Spot the Missing Word: In this exercise, students receive two versions of a text with missing words. They listen to a complete reading (by the teacher or a peer) and write down the missing words in their own text, further developing their listening and writing skills.

8 Modelling Dictation Tables: A flexible activity featuring 7-10 sentence starters with four vocabulary options each. This can be led by either the teacher or students and allows for various engagement methods, encouraging creativity and collaboration.

3 Find Someone Who Game: With 12 cards per game focusing on themes like family relationships, home life, and childhood, students move around the classroom to match responses with their classmates, promoting social interaction and language use in a fun way.

This resource can be used at the end of the module or at the end of each unit. It can also be used in Year 11 to revise for the IGCSE exam.

The differentiated tasks in this resource accommodate both weaker and more advanced students, ensuring that everyone can engage effectively with the material. With answer keys included, it simplifies the marking process for teachers and allows students to self-assess their work, promoting independent learning and confidence in their skills.

The resources are provided in both PDF and DOCX formats, allowing you to easily edit them to suit your classroom needs!

These exercises were exactly what I was looking for - nicely presented, linked to the Studio IGCSE textbook (I like the EPI/Conti approach, but we haven't implemented it in the school that I work in) and enriching and scaffolding some of the exercises within Studio IGCSE that can sometimes be difficult to access without more extensive modelling. As soon as MFLLab have produced documents for the other Modules of IGCSE, I will buy them. Superb!
