Expressions with the same base, can be manipulated using the Law of Indices. Change each expression into base of 3 or 5 before applying the laws of indices and decode the puzzle. I f you like this resource search for Index Laws 1 , 2 and 3.

Thank you for this helpful resource. I find that students struggle with changing the base but this is a nice accessible introduction. I've added it to my resource library at resourceaholic.com.

Love the joke. Just one problem- on the answers, you have the first question as an R but there isn't an R. I think 3^10 should be R (not W).
