Excellent bespoke interactive revision quiz with a broad range of learning activities that covers the 5 learning aims for the Unit 1: Anatomy & Physiology external assessment. The aim of this revision quiz is to improve students confidence and application of the 5 different learning aim’s / body systems in a competitive environment. Each of the 11 rounds of the quiz covers a different theme and includes a myriad of tasks for students to effectively apply their knowledge & understanding of the Unit 1 BTEC LEVEL 3 ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY specification to. All the answers are included at the end of each round. All you need to do is do some photocopying– everything else is done for you!

I used this quiz for four separate after school revision sessions, I arranged the students in teams of 4. This could be easily used for Easter revision.

Overview of quiz rounds

  1. Number round – 10 factual questions where the answer is a number!
  2. Anagrams and definitions – Students are tasked with unscrambling key words and stating the specific meaning of each!
  3. Official BTEC picture round – 10 different official pictures from previous published papers of the anatomy of different body systems.
  4. Art Attack – Students need to identify, sketch and label a range of key topics. Ranging from the double circulatory system loop to gaseous exchange and the RESYNTHESIS of ATP.
  5. Analysis of movement – 10 analysis of movements covering the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle joints. Students need to apply their knowledge and understanding of joint actions, agonists, antagonists, articulating bones and types of muscle contractions.
  6. What does it describe – Students need to recall key terms from a description.
  7. Unofficial picture round – Students need to name and identify key topics from a range of visual pictures from the 5 different learning aims.
  8. Memory recall questions – 10 broad question topics that students need to answer.
  9. Useful mnemonics and acronyms – Useful revision acronyms to consolidate and chunk key information together to aid application.
  10. Articulate – the aim of the game is for students to take it in turns to describe the key word(s) on the card without actually saying the word that they are describing. Over 50 individual cards included, with 300 key terms taken from the unit specification, text book and / or mark schemes.
  11. How many differences can you identify between two contrasting concepts – students are presented with two opposing concepts and their task is to come up with as many differences as they can.
