Because reproduction is taught from earlier grades, this lesson follows on from a Q&A lesson which begins the term. There is a tutorial of sexual and asexual reproduction and a quirky Youtube video to recap. Then, a slight change of pace in a group activity tracing the inherited features in the Simpson family. The lesson finishes up with questions on advantages and disadvantages of sexual and asexual reproduction.

Hope you see this:) The Simpsons activity is pretty simple. Each of the features of the characters can be traced back to a previous family member (overbite, nose size, hair colour, hair type). There is no specific correct answer (although some of the inherited traits are pretty obvious), but it gives the opportunity for discussion about heritable traits and traits that are obviously not inherited (as Ling is adopted).<br />

Hope that helps :)
