Introducing Multiplication of 2, 5 and 10

An animated presentation that represents the same multiplication statements in various ways; on a beaded number line, as an array, as coins and as groups. It provides a clear summary of the various strategies children can use to solve multiplication problems.

A printable template of the slides allows children to build their own representations of multiplication statements. Simply laminate or place in a dry-wipe pocket and children can use the template again and again with the multiplication cards.

This activity helps children to find a multiplication strategy that works for them.
