This investigation allows students to investigate different factors that can change the heart rate. It is a good introduction to setting up an experiment on Arduino Science Journal and instructions on how to set up the sound sensor are included in the PowerPoint. The collection of results requires a quiet space so students will need to complete at home or in an area where they can spread out. There are also links to other resources (Google Jamboard and Google Slides resources) within the PowerPoint that allow students to work collaboratively on this investigation during remote learning.
It is not fully developed and I would like to receive comments on areas that could further improved. I have also included links to free resources on the TES website that would provide support or additional information for the investigation. Thanks to @almahad, @jayto, @Andyjink99, @eric_t_viking, @smudgeruni, @catherine_38, @rainbowhunter and @lewannakenton.
This activity has been developed as part of my studies of the Open University H818 course. I have created a learning design based on the BSCS 5E Model of Instruction (Bybee et al., 1989) which I have used to design this and future investigations. This can be found on the website http://bit.ly/3rpY7Oc.
Further investigations are under development further details on the investigation page at http://bit.ly/3cLQyNH.
