This lesson details the Iranian Revolution of 1979, which resulted in the overthrow of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and the establishment of an Islamic Republic under Ayatollah Khomeini. It covers the causes, key events, and consequences of the revolution, including political repression, economic struggles, and the influence of religious leaders. Activities include researching the causes, categorising evidence, and writing essays. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the factors that led to the revolution and its impact on Iran.
