Islamophobia - Extremism

5 hours of lessons which all have a focus on on the rise of Islamophobia and the rise of anti-muslim sentiment in the UK - from hate crimes to the rise of right wing political groups. The pack challenges extremist thinking and debunks islamophobic attitudes, promoting the British Values of tolerance and celebrating diversity.

All lesson packs are complete with a detailed PowerPoint, accompanying differentiated worksheets, clip links with questions, plenaries, clear LOs and starters. All are well differentiated to three levels throughout to enable clear evidence of progress for all students.

1. What is Islamophobia? What does it mean to have a religious prejudice and how does discrimination still happen today?
2. What is hate crime? How are Muslims and other minority groups being targeted?
3. What is right wing extremism? Is it really on the rise, and why? How can we help counter it?
4. Why is there controversy behind how Muslims choose to dress? Why do people have such strong opinions about this?
