Jewish Patriarchs and Matriarchs. Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebecca, Jacob and Leah.

This lesson starts of our scheme of Jewish Leaders and stories for Year two but can be adapted upwards. It looks at Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebecca, Jacob and Leah. We start by considering our views on role models and how people can learn from folks who have gone before them. You will need to have three available adults (including yourself) to represent each couple. I do this lesson with two other women so we represent the matriarchs but adapt to suit your own situation. The class are split into three to go to listen to the story of the matriarchs and ask them questions before visiting another one. All adults have read their stories from Lion Storyteller, Lion Children's and Dorling Kindersley before hand. Rearrange classroom into story telling areas with cushions and beanbags to lounge on etc.
