This notebook is based on the story Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo. The slides cover three lessons (but they could be extended or shortened). Children examine the action and suspense used in chapters 3 and 4 when Michael falls overboard. The children then carry out their own short burst writing activities. There is a WAGOLL model, success criteria and word banks all included and warm up activities for each lesson. At the end there is another lesson which has editing stations so they can revise and edit their work before publishing.
