This is a scheme of work I designed for year 7. We wanted to study a class novel that the students would enjoy but which would also allow us to teach the GCSE skills for English Language. The scheme includes all of the resources and presentations. There are ideas for differentiation and each lesson has its own objective.
We only read up to the end of chapter 20 in class as the novel is a long one but this encouraged students to then read themselves out of the classroom.
